‘Abdu’l-Bahá (عبد البهاء‎) (23 May 1844 - 28 November 1921), born `Abbás EffendÃ, was the eldest son of Bahá'u'lláh, the founder of the Bahá'à Faith. In 1892, `Abdu'l-Bahá was appointed in his father's will to be his successor and head of the Bahá'à Faith. His journeys to the West, and his Tablets of the Divine Plan spread the Bahá'à message beyond its middle-eastern roots, and his Will and Testament laid the foundation for the current Bahá'à administrative order. `Abdu'l-Bahá's given name was `Abbás, but he preferred the title of `Abdu'l-Bahá (servant of the glory of God). He is commonly referred to in Bahá'à texts as "The Master", and received the title of KBE after his personal storage of grain was used to relieve famine in Palestine following World War I, but never used the title. He started out from Moslem's faith (while in Persia), then started his own sect, Moslem like, but combined with Christianity (He consider himself the FATHER, then died several years later), combined also with other religion's faith, even the New Age. Be careful, since combinations are not necessarily the best! "O that I could travel, even though on foot and in the utmost poverty, to these regions, and, raising the call of "Ya Baha'u'l-Abha" in cities, villages, mountains, deserts and oceans, promote the divine teachings! This, 42 alas, I cannot do. How intensely I deplore it! Please God, ye may achieve it." (Abdu'l-Baha, Tablets of the Divine Plan, p. 41) Answered by world_gypsy - Wed Jul 19 04:00:13 2006 Good action, without knowledge of God, is imperfect, why?
Q. My Master and also your Master (if you accept Him) makes emphasis that man should have faith in God to perform perfectly good actions. "...when a person performs a good action, although it is praiseworthy, if it is not caused by the love and knowledge of God, it is imperfect. Moreover, if you reflect justly, you will see that these good actions of other men who do not know God are also fundamentally caused by the teachings of God -- that is to say, that the former Prophets led men to perform these actions, explained their beauty to them, and declared their splendid effects; then these teachings were diffused among men and reached them successively, one after the other, and turned their hearts toward these perfections.
