A. "A Course in Miracle"?!!Is this a book? The very nature of miracles is that they are beyond human explanation. I'd love to claim that I understood God's reasoning - why does He do this and not that? Heal one person, but not another. I think that everybody has points where they whisper a heart felt "Thank You" and at other points just shout "How could You?!!" because we believe that with the power of one little finger He could change our situations. This is a piece of fiction I've written about the questions of miracles. As Ella got up to retell her story of healing, Beth got to her feet and quietly slipped out of the church. As she walked towards the park she allowed the tears to fall. She made her way towards the swings and sat, head… [cont.]

Do all Unity Church members believe that A course in Miracles was channeled by Jesus?
Q. That is the claim of the author, and I know a lot of Unity churches teach ACIM, but does the average lay Unity church member actually buy that it was authored by Jesus via channel?
Asked by Mariposa Traicionera - Tue May 18 17:24:49 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I was not aware that Unity used it but If you actually read it, it is pretty convincing. I thought that it was just nonsense till I actually spent some time reading it. The exact same love and acceptance and non-judgment that comes through Jesus' teachings in the bible is alive and well in the words of the course in miracles. Reading the words of Jesus in the bible I was always struck buy the genius that was so obvious in his teachings. You didn't even need to understand what he was saying. All you needed to do was follow what he said and your life got better. This same genius can easily be recognized in the teachings of the author of the course in miracles. I get the feeling that Jesus is still with us and working on our behalf. You… [cont.]

A. Loving one's neighbor means that you don't kill him, lie about him, nor steal his wife or possessions. Laws (MITZVAOH) came about, after much trial and error, to preserve the health and peace of a community. Laws also addressed sanitation issues: it was discovered that eating pork sometimes led to trichynosis. Homosexuality sometimes led to the e.coli contamination of food, from contact with fecal residue in the colon. Circumcision reduced the incidence of cervical cancer in women because it was cleaner. Later, Jesus would reportedly say that lust in the heart was equivalent to adultery and anger in the heart was equivalent to murder. This refinement of principals built a hedge around the law. Jesus would also allegedly say that… [cont.]

Christian & have read A Course in Miracles & Conversations With God? How do you feel about the Bible now?
Q. What is your view of the Christian Bible in relation to these texts? I would prefer it if only those who DON'T view ACIM and CWG as 'works of the devil' would reply. Please, folks. : )
Asked by unknown - Fri Apr 30 13:06:00 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The course in miracles is great but cwg is just ok. If walsh would have just shut up and transcribed what he was hearing it would have been a lot better. His ego is huge and it got in the way. The bible is suspect. What you need to remember is that the bible was compiled under the auspices of the roman emperor Constantine in an attempt to bring all of the various belief systems of the empire under a common faith. The result was to be the universal or catholic faith. The word Catholic is derived from the Greek adjective (katholikos), meaning "universal". There is nothing wrong with this and I do not mean for it to sound derogatory. You just need to realize that it is an amalgamation of the various faiths and the dogma and theology of… [cont.]

In A Course In Miracles what is meant by the "Holy Spirit"?
Q. It says voice for God but I still done feel I understand. Father, Son, Holy Spirit. He says I and the father are one, but he makes no mention of the holy spirit. Also the holy spirit brings you back to God but what is the holy spirit's purpose after that? I feel this is something very basic that I need to understand but I don't feel I do. If anyone believes they know then please tell me in as many words as you can. I would also appreciate it if someone could tell me what he refers to when he says, you and your brother. Also what is an example of a special relationship. Thanks
Asked by Jimmy - Mon Dec 29 19:46:26 2008 - - 13 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Hi Jimmy, A special relationship is anything, or any situation that you see that you think would be better if it was changed. It all exists to teach us and lead us back home. Any idea that anything else is happening is a simple lack of faith. It assumes that we know better than God what is in our best interest. Or that God would allow something that was not in our best interest. How likely is that? The Holy Spirit is a transitional creation. That is it is there for us to help with our transition from confusion to truth. At such point as there is no more confusion we no longer have any need for the voice. Think of a telephone. When we are making a call we use it. When the call is over we put it down. The phone does not cease to exist, [cont.]

A. I did the lessons book and read the rest at least once, and loved it. It works. I quote regularly from it. It is a life time endeavour. The breath and depth are such that no regular person could have written it. I cannot explain the changes it brought in me, which I am sure are many. It did answer any open questions I had. Start from the back with the glossary. Then, do the lessons the best you can. Print the daily lesson or get the cue cards. Repeat a lesson if you feel like it. Do not try to do a lesson if you are very busy or if you are traveling. You can read it in any order you like. . .

A. I doubt it. In the world as Richard Bach imagined it, the Manual was its own book with its own content and had no connection to any books existing in our world. Besides, wasn't the manual the book that whenever you opened it, it told you what you needed to know? Definitely not something that's going to happen with the "A Course in Miracles" materials! :-)

Have you benefited from A Course in Miracles?
Q. My boss is really into _A Course in Miracles_ and talks about it as though it's the best thing since white bread, but after flipping through the introductory book he let me borrow, it reads like gibberish to me, watered-down Christianity with a touch of New Age positive thinking sprinkled in. Have any of you benefited from _A Course in Miracles_? In what ways?

A. YES, I have greatly benefited from diligent study of acim over the last 3 years I have to disagrre about it being New Age, though I have compaired it in the past with some new age authors that idea has come and gone.. you might ask your boss for his book and read the introduction to the workbook lessons its pretty awesome and I had noticed a few promises that you might find interesting, it obvious that you haven't completely dismissed acim it is a course in mind training and it teaches you to in my words observe thoughts in the mind and how we identify ourselves and how we are not seeing the world as God created it. Peace my friend .. wonderful question

Is it possible that - a course in miracles- is the religion for this age?
Q. I'm a member of the bahai faith but I have just recently been reading the book -A Course in Miracles-. Bahai's belive that all religions worship the same god and each messager's message was needed to be heard at that time. And its belived that the bahai faith has the message for this day and age. Is it possible that -a course in miracles- (which came after the bahai faith message) could be the religion for this day and age now. I maybe wording this question wrong but the bahai faith teaches people to search for the truth and this is confusing me. Can someone who is into -a course in miracles- with knowledge about the bahai faith help me understand this better?

A. ACIM isn't a "religion" its more of a spiritual path. I do NOT think that its by any measure, the next level of abrahamic descendance (Christainity came from Judaism, Islam came from Christianity, Bahai came from Islam, each bouncing back and forth with various corrections or derivations from the Jewish core) but I think its really, a higher spiritual understanding, presented for the christian perspective. I am Jewish but have sat in with an ACIM group a few times. it was very interesting. Johnny, you do know that Jesus is at the center of ACIM, right? hes the one showing the way. I don't know much about Bahai though.

Q. Mrs. Schucman, co-author of "A Course in Miracles", who said "suffering did not exist" died a painful death from pancreatic cancer barely a year after publishing the book "A Course in Miracles". Schucman, a Columbia University professor and psychologist, was an acquaintance of Fr. Benedict J. Groeschel, C.F.R.. Fr. Groeschel gave a eulogy at her funeral. Fr. A. Ed, you are a strange guy! You have only read the introduction and you know SO much about it. I believe you much be a very special guy! I know a lot about ACIM. I was a student for many years and taught the Course for several years. I left that path not because I found it wanting, but because it took energy to do the right thing and I got lazy and wanted to do it my own way. Intelligent people form their opinions of a book, particularly one as deep and involved as ACIM after they have read and believe they understand the book. The fact that you have rejected the book before reading or trying to understand it, means you are wasting your time reading said book. I suspect you would get much more enjoyment out of reading a book that… [cont.]
