He was the second son to a family of farmers that lived in Kim lien. His name at birth was Nguyen Cinh Chung but later he adopted the name Ho Chi Minh. Ho Chi Minh received primary education at a local school .In 1907 Him and his brother attended high school at Franco Vietnamese academy which was thought to be a very prestigious school. Ho Chi Minh left the academy before graduation. (It was said he was a very bright student but would have gone further if it wasn t for his hatred of the French). You wilfully ignore the USA's involvement, that of promising Full independence to Vietnam only to side with the French for other reasons (Realpolitik) Mr Minh had already met a member of the US secret service & had got reassurance's of Vietnamese sovereignty post war. The US mis-calculated the fact that Ho chi Minh was first a nationalist & second a socialist proving (to the confusion of students) that both is possible. Britains place there was always to be temporary as all axis territory's had to be administered immediately after the war
